This release is packed with functionality enhancements and security updates, many of which our users requested. From better VAT tracking to improved compliance reporting and updated entity information, here’s what’s new in Version 22.13.4:

Tax Management Updates

New: Unclaimed VAT Tab for VAT201

A new “Unclaimed VAT” tab has been added to the Workings section of your VAT201 filing card.

This tab allows users to manually record VAT amounts not claimed in a particular period.

This is a manual, informational tool to help with internal tracking; it won’t affect your submission to SARS.

New: Unlock Determinations Tab for eFiling Submissions.

Previously, if you submitted a VAT201 or IRP6 return through eFiling, the Determinations tab in Konsise would be locked to prevent data inconsistencies. But we’ve now added an optional setting to unlock the Determinations tab for VAT201 and IRP6 manually.

This lets you input submission details manually, so reports and dashboards reflect a complete picture, even when the submission wasn’t done via Konsise.

Don't worry: this doesn’t allow for a second submission, it’s purely for accurate record keeping.

Security Upgrade: Penetration Test Fixes

We’ve closed off all critical, high, and medium risks identified in our recent penetration test. This was essential for some of our large corporate clients and is good news for all users. You can trust that Konsise is operating at high security standards.

Compliance Report Enhancements

We’ve listened to your feedback and made some practical improvements to the Compliance Report:

• The new Outstanding Balance column shows if there’s still a SARS balance due, making it easier to spot non-compliance risks.
• Payment value calculations for ITR14, ITR12, and ITR12T now correctly reflect if only provisional tax payments were made.
• Column widths were adjusted so more data fits on screen, which means less scrolling and more insight.

Bug Fixes

An issue with the Client Grouping view of the Compliance Report not matching the standard report has now been fixed.

Entity Management Updates

Info Regulator Reporting Now Supported

We’ve added support for Info Regulator compliance tracking under the Companies section. This includes details on Information Officers, PAIA reporting history, and upcoming submission deadlines. 

Helps ensure you’re meeting obligations under POPIA and the Promotion of Access to Information Act.

New Enhancements for Individuals and Trusts

Individuals: 

• ID Issue Date is now shown on the Individuals screen and in Beneficial Ownership (BO) reports.
• We’ve removed the requirement to add a Tax Reference Number, making it easier to input individual profiles.

Trusts:

Entity Management Improvements

• Ongoing refinements to the Annual Return Trackers for better tracking.
• Additional validation was added for date of birth fields, reducing input errors.
• Reports tab on entities has been updated for improved usability.
